To consign is to place your things in our hands, as Seller, to sell them for you. Consignment differs from thrift or charity shops because you retain ownership of your goods, as Consignor, until the goods are sold or ownership is transferred.
How our Consignment Program Works:
Instant RePlay uses a 90-day resale process to sell Consignor goods. For goods not sold within 90 days of its initial sale, the Consignor has an additional 14 days to return to the store to pick up any unsold goods or re-consign with us. If the goods are not picked up or re-consigned, then after 104 days of the initial intake date, ownership of the goods will transfer. Seller may then keep, dispose or donate the Consignor’s unsold goods.
Instant RePlay offers a 55/45 consignment-based program with 55% of the sale proceeds returned to the Consignor and 45% retained by the store. To sell your goods through the store, you must become a Consignor. There is a one-time $5 membership fee to become a consignor to the store which is deducted from your consignment proceeds.
When you bring your sports or fitness goods to the store, you will complete two forms: an Intake Form and our Consignment Agreement. Using your completed intake form, your items are evaluated and, if accepted, are recorded and priced in our system. Acceptable items are those in clean resale condition, without stains, damages or defects. For items that we need to clean, we will flip the consignment percentage to a 45/55 program. And, you must also be the lawful owner of the items you are selling. Instant RePlay does not accept stolen items in its store.
How our Consignment Pricing Works:
Goods are priced initially for resale at approximately 30-50% below comparable new retail store prices, depending on age, brand and condition. Newer, nicer items are priced higher than older, more worn items. Instant RePlay has the option to discount items 10% if not sold after 30 days and then another 10% if not sold after 60 days. Our goal is to sell the items you bring to us.
Payment to our Consignors for Resold Goods:
Payment to Consignors for goods sold through Instant RePlay is issued daily in the form of cash for accounts with less than $20 in them. For all consignment accounts with a balance greater than $20, Instant RePlay settles these at the same time each month and issues checks to our consigners on the 10th day of the month. Checks are mailed to consignors residing beyond 35 miles of the store. For local consignors, checks must be picked up. Prior to settling consignor accounts, consignors are welcome to use any balance in their account toward items purchased.
Merchandise Sold & Accepted:
All consigned sales are final. Merchandise is sold as is. There is no return or exchange policy for resold goods purchase in the store. Some exceptions do apply.
Consignments are accepted at any time during store hours; no appointment is necessary. Items must be in clean, resale condition without stains, damages or defects. For larger sports and fitness goods, acceptance may vary depending on the floor space and inventory we have available. If it doesn’t fit in the store, we have an Items Available form that you can complete and we will call you when we have space. For other even larger items, Instant RePlay offers an in-store advertising program for a flat fee. This is perfect for items not suitable for in-store sale such as campers, boats, jet skis, snowmobiles, and home gyms. And, we have our Items Wanted board for matching buyers to consignors.
